bystander that police thousand say is connected to the rampage. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm ama dates. we are learning more about a man arrested after a high speed chase and shootout with police. it happened after a series of at least four robberies in san jose on friday, and now police say the suspect is also connected to a homicide. abc7 news reporter lilian kim is live in san jose with the latest on the developing story. lilian? >> ama, in that crime spree, an innocent bystander was shot and killed in front of the 7-eleven. friends dropped off flowers in his memory. police say two men are responsible for the murder, but so far only one is in custody dough. custody. wilbanks is already under arrest, and now san jose is looking -- san he say police are looking for his partner in crime. but they don't have a name or description because both men were said to be wearing ski masks during the crime spree that left one dead and a police officer wounded. it is san jose police officers association is offering a rare $10,000 reward in hopes that someone can lead them to the second

was visiting in the lower unit when the firefighters arrived. >> the neighbors came down and told us we should get out because the uh -- the alarms were going out and they tested positive for carbon monoxide. >> when firefighters tested for carbon monoxide the readings were negative, but the home's co alarm was emitting a steady beeping sound. >> they said it was going off for several days. they thought it was a low battery. >> this is the co testing gear the firefighters used on the residents. when they tested the -- me the reading was 1. some of the residents tested from 11 to 15 meaning they had the odorless and colorless gas in their systems and were feeling symptoms of the co poisoning. >> feeling light headedness and dizziness are some of the indications. >> it can come from gas appliances like faulty water heaters or space he heaters. it is the leading cause of poisoning in the country. residents won't be allowed back in until it is cleared bydf health. they say anywhere between 200 and 700 people die of carbon monoxide poisoning in the country each year. and firefighters say it is esse
good evening and thank you for joining us. i'm ama daetz. we have team coverage. cornell bernard is live in millbrae where he has been keeping an eye on the storm, but we begin with leigh glaser. >> leigh: this frontal system, fast mover. already starting to see some clearing in the north bay. with live doppler 7hd you can seal the dividing line between the north bay and this where is the frontal system is, and continues to spread rain, mainly towards the east bay and south bay locations. and you can get a sense how quickly this thing cleared, about 8:00. downtown san francisco, picked up a quarter inch of rain in just 25 minutes. yeah. some pretty good storm cells moving through. brief heavy downpours and then moves out. it's hard to keep up with these cell. concord, walnut creek, picking up light rain. clayton road reporting some mod recall cells. all of this moves towards the brentwood area. we're finally starting to see showers move toward the south bay, san jose and sunnyvale reporting rain. more of the forecast coming up. >> ama: let's get to cornell bernard, live in millbr

20 yards up the hill behind me. firefighters from pinole and the surrounding area are using shovels to dig up the pipes and possibly using heavy machinery to break into it. it started around 8:00 tonight when a customer here at the best buy in pinole heard the faint voice of a man calling for help. at first they couldn't figure out where it was coming from. and then they tracked it to a storm drain. the security guard at best buy said the man was sleeping in the pipe which is slanted at a 50 degree angle, and somehow he sliped so far down they could only hear him faintly calling for help. jay been able to make physical and verbal contact with him. we tried to lasso his hands, but he is tightly in there. we are excavating the drainpipe right now. i have resources from pinole public works to determine if we need to breakthrough the drainpipe itself and how we are going to be able to do that and protect his safety. >> reporter: firefighters say the man appears to be about 30 years old, and he is stuck in a 14-inch drainage pipe, but they don't know how long he has been in there. this c

drive after 8 tonight. lillian joins us live with the very latest. lillian? >>reporter: larry firefighters say this fire started in the roof attic area. these are 2 story town homes. part of the kimberly wood apartment complex and crews are mopping up. fire department got the call at 8:30 p.m. they say it appears the cause may related to a fireplace. flames most intense in the roof attic area of one unit. total of 4 units are said to be destroyed by either flames smoke or water damage and at least 10 people have been displaced from their homes. we spoke to man who rush to get his wife and kids out of the house after neighbor pounded on the door alerting them that the fire. his unit is one of the 4 destroyed. >> my 11-year-old daughter she's really . sad destroyed and all that stuff. >>reporter: thoughts on this happening on thanksgiving? >> that it's really bad feeling but if you are looking at the other side we are thankful that we are okay. nobody got hurt. we'll figure it out tomorrow. tomorrow will be a brighter da day. >>reporter: the american red cross is her
